Boho Boudoir at Home Shoot

Have you ever seen a boudoir shoot and thought, I might want to do that one day? Or, have you seen a photo of someone you know and thought. Wow, how did they have the courage to take that photo? Well, I think we all have doubted ourselves from time to time about if we are good enough, look sexy enough or if anyone would even want to see us in a sexy boudoir pose photo but, that is what I call the nay-say’er in our minds who will always there to remind us how to live in fear.

Background info : I was shooting some lifestyle portraits for Allegra and her cousin Jaimie for their new consulting business. We got to chatting about boudoir sessions and Allegra was soon to be married. Long story short, Allegra decided she wanted to jump out of her comfort zone and take some Hello There Darling Boudoir portraits. As she and I chatted about exactly what she wanted, she decided her private home is where the shoot should take place.

As I was beginning to get ready to take her portraits, I went over her style, what she and I decided on for looks (outfits), I asked her the three important questions I do for all my boudoir shoots. (What are the three things about yourself you love? Why are you doing this shoot? What are three things your soon-to-be hubby loves about you?) This reassured her that any parts of her body she may be uncomfortable being photographed were not our focus. I do believe we both laughed so much there may have been happy tears, a bathroom break and some ice cream to come out the freezer. It was magical, real and honest.

Here is some of what we created. I have to say, I am so proud of Allegra and her courage to push through her fears and stand in her own beauty.
