When love is allowed to shine, it is like when we let the light come through the clouds on a dark day. Where I came from same sex marriages were forbidden and not tolerated. In my heart I never understood why some love wasn’t beautiful while others were glorified. Back then, I was just a kid and now, I realize I can celebrate any kind of love I believe in. I can not only celebrate it, but cheer it on, provide a safe platform for love to flourish.

So, today as fall draws near, I want to allow love to shine for Doug and Colin. They are so beautiful and just being in their presence is peaceful, fun and comforting. They deserve to shine, just like on a sunset evening when the sun kisses the skyline of a mountain ridge. Please take a moment and feel how they felt, completely in love with each other in a place worthy of their love.
